Valerie van der Graaf
"The Dutch are very direct," says Miss August, a Dutch model Valerie van der Graaf. "We prefer sincerity. If we don't want to do something – we should say." She thinks, remembering a situation when her directness created problems. "Not just my boyfriend believed the sincerity of rudeness," she adds with a chuckle. "But I was just being myself".
Valerie, who now lives in London, likes to remember his hometown of Rotterdam, a thriving modern city, rebuilt after the 2nd world war. In 2008, the government made it the center of Muslim immigration in the Netherlands. "He's like a little new York, it is beautiful as Amsterdam, though, and look nothing like him," smiles Valerie.
When don travels the world for her profession, she is fully given bolanio for their favorite football teams – "Feyenord" in Holland and Arsenal in England, and enthusiastically watching the song contest "Eurovision". "I love to travel and learn new cities. This is the best component in the model trade, but I – how do you call it? – European garbage," she laughs. "I like to be Europeans".
