5 simple recipes for when you haven’t shopped in 2 weeks

[ad_1]

We all have those days when we wake up hungry and realize that all we have in our fridge are leftovers. Maybe we were too busy with work or just too lazy to go out shopping. In this article, I will guide you step by step on how to prepare five delicious dishes with just a few ingredients. You don’t have to worry about not being good at cooking because these recipes are very easy to make. They require minimal time and effort while still managing to satisfy your hunger effectively.

1. Mac and cheese

It’s a simple but tasty snack to enjoy in the evening.

Things you will need:

  • Pasta
  • Milk
  • Cheese

Steps to do:

1) Pour the milk into a large saucepan and wait for it to start boiling. Reduce heat to medium-low, add macaroni and cook, stirring frequently, until pasta is cooked.

2) The starch in the pasta thickens the milk making a nice creamy sauce for the cheese. It will take about 12 minutes.

3) Then remove from the heat and add the cheese. Stir everything together until the cheese is melted and everything is combined.

4) Add black pepper and chili powder for seasoning.

2. Puffed omelet with cheese

This is just a big, fluffy omelette with lots of cheese. For this you must have a hand blender, otherwise you will have to put in a lot more effort than necessary.

Things you will need:

  • Eggs
  • Cheese
  • Butter
  • Salt

Steps to do:

1) Break the eggs into a bowl and salt. Using the hand mixer, beat the eggs well and continue to mix until frothy and coarse. This should take about 7 minutes, then stir in half the cheese until well blended. If you don’t use a hand blender, it will take longer, but be patient.

2) Next, melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Pour the eggs into the pan and spread them in a circle. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.

3) Scatter the rest of the cheese on top, cover it once more and cook until the cheese begins to melt; for about 1 minute.

4) Using the spatula, gently slide it onto a plate. Make a crease and add parsley flakes or black pepper for seasoning.

3. Chicken Teriyaki

This dish may seem a little complex and it requires a lot of ingredients, but what if I told you that you only need three elements to prepare this dish?

Things you will need:

  • Chicken (preferably thighs, but breasts work well too.)
  • Soya sauce
  • Honey

Steps to do:

1) Heat the oil in a large frying pan and add the meat. The oil should be hot before adding the chicken to get that nice golden skillet.

2) Brown the chicken until golden brown and crispy. Then you pour the sauce and honey.

3) Mix well until the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze. If it’s too sweet you can add more sauce and if it’s too salty you can add more honey. It should take about 2-3 minutes and it’s done.

You can serve this dish with any cooked vegetable for a healthy meal.

4. Potato gnocchi

Okay, this recipe takes a little more effort to make, but it’s 100% worth it.

Things you will need:

  • Potatoes
  • Plain flour
  • Eggs
  • Butter

Steps to do:

1) Add the potatoes to a large pot of cold water. Bring the pot of water to a boil and boil the potatoes for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a fork can easily penetrate them.

2) Drain the potatoes and let them cool. Using a peeler or your fingers, remove the skin from the potatoes.

3) Mash the potatoes until there are no lumps, season with salt and pepper and mix well.

4) Next you add an egg and whisk until it is evenly distributed.

5) Knead the dough adding flour until the dough loses its stickiness and becomes a more solid mound.

6) Cut the dough into 4 parts, take one part and roll it into a long rope about an inch wide. Cut the rope into ½ inch squares and set aside. Using an upturned fork, you can slide each square of gnocchi over the tines of the fork so they become serrated like a corkscrew.

Another way to shape the gnocchi is to simply press your finger into the gnocchi to form a small basin.

7) Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the gnocchi. Boil until they float to the top, then remove.

8) In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the gnocchi to the skillet with the butter, stir until lightly browned on the outside.

Now, in case you feel like it’s incomplete and want to jazz it up, here’s a recipe for it. sauce!

Things you will need:

  • Olive oil
  • Onions
  • Tomatoes

Steps to do:

1) Put a large saucepan over medium heat and add your olive oil and onions.

2) Cook for about 5 to 7 minutes, then add the tomatoes. Feel free to add more items if you have some like garlic or chili peppers.

3) Then all you have to do is add water and a little olive oil. Cook for about 15 minutes until the tomatoes break down and form a homogeneous sauce.

Add a little water when done and stir in the gnocchi.

5. Creme Brulee

Because everyone needs a simple three-ingredient dessert recipe in their life.

Things you will need:

  • Vanilla ice cream
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Sugar

Steps to do:

Our key ingredient here is vanilla ice cream. The ice cream contains everything from Crème Brûlée needs: vanilla, cream, salt, eggs, sugar.

1) Microwave the ice cream for about a minute to melt.

2) Pour it into a bowl, add the egg yolk and mix well.

3) Cook in a bain-marie at 250°F (120°C) for about 45 minutes and you will have your pastry cream.

Caramelizing sugar is a term most often applied to melting sugar until it becomes a caramel-colored liquid. It’s simply a mixture of sugar and water cooked until it becomes syrupy and black. Watch carefully so as not to burn it.

5) Quickly pour the sugar into the custard before it starts to harden and you’ve made yourself a tasty dessert.
